Mother’s Golden Bird

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lily. Lily had hair as bright as the sun. She loved to hop, skip, and jump in the tall grass. "Look at me, Mommy!" Lily cried. Her mother smiled because Lily was her special golden bird. Lily was very happy and full of life.

Every night, Mother held Lily close. She tucked Lily into her warm bed. "You are the bird that sings in my heart," Mother whispered. Lily felt very safe. She hummed a sweet tune until she fell asleep. It was a song of love that stayed in the house all night long.

One morning, Lily went outside to play. She saw something shiny on a leaf. "Oh! A diamond!" she said. It was just a drop of water, but it sparkled like gold. Lily wanted to show her mother the beautiful treasure. She felt like she could fly because she was so excited.

The sky turned gray and the rain began to fall. Pitter-patter, pitter-patter! Lily could not go out to skip in the meadow. She missed the sun and the flowers. "Don't be sad, my little bird," Mother said. Even when it is dark outside, the golden bird still sings inside.

Mother put on some music. They began to dance in the kitchen! They twirled and swirled around the table. Lily forgot all about the rain. She chirped and sang just like a real bird. Mother clapped her hands. "You make the sun shine even when it rains!" Mother said happily.

The sun came back out to say hello. Lily and Mother sat together to watch the sunset. "Look at the colors!" Lily pointed to the sky. Lily knew she would always be her mother's golden bird. And Mother knew the song in her heart would never end. They were the best of friends forever.
