Chapter 1
The Man of the Mist
Long ago, in the heart of the islands, there lived a man who had lost his way. The elders called him the "Brainrot Man" because his mind was filled with nothing but static and strange, nonsensical whispers. He wandered the beaches, mumbling words that no one understood, his eyes wide with a silly, vacant stare. He was not mean, but he was very, very confused.
One afternoon, a group of curious children decided to follow him into the deep woods. They found him sitting near a glowing pond, trying to catch his own shadow with a wooden spoon. "What are you doing?" the oldest girl asked, stepping into the light.
The man froze. He turned around slowly, his stomach letting out a loud, rumbling sound that echoed through the trees. He looked at the children, not with kindness, but with a hungry, wild look in his eyes. He began to stomp toward them, his arms outstretched like a giant bird. "I am the hunger of the mist!" he shouted, though it sounded more like a garbled mess of sounds.
The children realized he wasn't just silly; he was dangerous. He lunged forward, his hands reaching out as if he were going to gobble them up right then and there! The children scrambled back, their hearts racing as they realized the legend of the wandering man was much scarier than the stories suggested. They had to think fast before they became his afternoon snack.
The end.
