Chapter 1

The Little Cottage

Once upon a time, a little boy named Leo lived in a magic forest. He lived with his loving dad, Papa Bram. They were very poor. They lived in a tiny cottage made of wood.

Every day, Papa Bram worked hard chopping wood. When he earned a copper coin, he did not buy candy. Instead, he put it into a big glass jar.

"Clink!" went the coin into the jar.

"Why do we save our coins, Papa?" asked Leo.

"Saving money helps us when hard times come," Papa Bram said gently.

"Look! The coin made the jar glow!" cried Leo.

Papa Bram smiled. "Every saved coin is a little bit of magic for tomorrow."

Leo loved watching the bright jar grow full. He knew his dad worked hard to keep them safe.

The Cold Frost

One winter night, a big frosty storm came to the magic forest! The icy wind blew through the trees. Whoosh!

The cold frost froze their little vegetable garden. Then, the cottage roof broke! Cold rain began to drip inside. Drop, drop, drop!

"Oh no! Water is leaking!" said Leo.

Leo wrapped himself in his red blanket. "I am so cold, Papa," he whispered.

Papa Bram wrapped his big arms around Leo. "Do not worry, my little boy," Papa Bram said gently. "We worked hard, and we saved our coins. We are ready for this."

Leo looked at the glowing glass jar. It was full of shiny saved coins. They were not scared, because they had saved for a rainy day.

Fixing the Roof

The next morning, the sun came out. Papa Bram took the glowing jar of coins into the forest market.

Because Papa Bram had saved his money, he could buy thick wooden boards and warm, soft blankets.

Papa Bram carried the heavy wood back home. "This wood is heavy, but it will fix our home!" he said.

Leo helped his dad fix the roof. Leo held the little wooden pegs while Papa Bram hammered the roof tight. Soon, the leak was completely gone!

They wrapped themselves in the warm new blankets. The cozy cottage was dry and safe again.

"Our saved money saved us!" Leo cheered happily.

A Bright Future

After the big storm, Leo and Papa Bram kept working hard every single day. Papa Bram made fine wooden toys, and Leo helped paint them with pretty colors.

People in the magic forest loved their wooden toys! They earned many shiny coins.

"Should we buy big cakes with all our coins?" asked Leo.

"We can buy a tiny treat, but we must save the rest!" Papa Bram laughed.

So, they saved their coins in a new, bigger magic jar. Soon, they had plenty of healthy food, warm clothes, and a safe house. "We are warm and happy now," Leo whispered peacefully.

Leo learned that working hard and saving money was the best magic of all!
